Job Shadow for a day
“Job shadowing” is a term which comes from the US and means that a “senior” employee gives a “junior” employee a look behind the scenes of their job. For one day, the junior becomes the senior’s shadow. Through this brief but intensive internship, participating companies can get to know one of the “high potentials” from the GCSC Network and can stimulate their initial interest in the company. In addition, an inquisitive question from a junior can often lead to a senior reassessing how they complete daily tasks. The day should be chosen so that the young professionals get a good idea of what the senior’s daily job entails.

Coaching
“Coaching” or “mentoring” is set up for a longer period of time. Here an experienced person (senior) gives an inexperienced person (junior) guidance and help in making career decisions. The goal is to support the junior in their career development inside or outside the company. The senior benefits from the junior’s fresh ideas and impulses, can deliberate on their own work, and can sharpen their personal, social, and communicative skills. And even here, the possibility of gaining a future employee or a potential customer for the company exists.
